Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are
This privacy policy explains how Arco Development AG, Seestrasse 29, 8702 Zollikon, Switzerland, operating under the brand makro. (“makro.”, “we”, “us”), processes personal data in connection with this website. We are the controller of this processing. For all privacy matters, contact us at contact@makro.ag.
2. Applicable law
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, in particular because we address clients in the European Union, we also comply with the GDPR. The legal bases referred to below are those of the GDPR.
3. Website visits and hosting
This website is hosted by Framer B.V., Rozengracht 207B, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, Netherlands. When you visit it, the server automatically records technical data transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website, keep it stable and secure, and defend it against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. Framer processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement and stores it only for as long as these purposes require.
4. Website analytics
We use Framer’s built-in analytics to understand how our website is used, for example page views, referring pages and device types. It works without cookies and without persistent identifiers. The data is anonymised and cannot be traced back to you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Cookies
We do not use tracking or marketing cookies. Where technically necessary to display the website, data may be stored in your browser; this does not require consent. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
6. Contact form and email
When you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the information you provide: name, company, email address, phone number (optional), your role, site address or portfolio size, and your message. We use this information to handle your enquiry and to get back to you, for example with a first assessment of your site. Form submissions are transmitted via our hosting provider Framer and delivered to our business email account.
To prepare a proposal, we may share the information required for this purpose, in particular company, site details and contact person, with selected partners who fund, build or operate energy systems, such as capital partners and EPC contractors. We do so only to pursue your enquiry and share only what it requires.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries). We delete the data once your enquiry has been fully dealt with and the data is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply or a business relationship results.
7. Recipients
We share personal data only with:
IT service providers acting on our behalf (website hosting, email, IT infrastructure) who are contractually bound;
partners as described in section 6, to the extent required to pursue your enquiry;
authorities and courts, where we are legally obliged to do so.
We do not sell personal data.
8. Transfers abroad
Our recipients are mainly located in Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Individual service providers or their sub-processors may also process data in other countries, in particular the United States. In such cases we ensure an adequate level of data protection, for example through the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (in the version recognised for Switzerland) or certification under the EU-U.S. or Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
9. Links to LinkedIn
Our website links to our profile on LinkedIn. This is a simple link: no data is transferred to LinkedIn until you click it. After that, LinkedIn’s privacy policy applies (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Dublin, Ireland).
10. Retention
We store personal data only for as long as the purposes described require or statutory retention obligations demand (in Switzerland, generally up to ten years for business records).
11. Data security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted transmission (TLS).
12. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR) and withdraw any consent given, with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, write to contact@makro.ag; we may ask you to verify your identity.
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch; in the EU, the authority in your country of residence or place of work.
13. No automated decision-making
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
14. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. The version published on this website applies.
